Phoebe Pharmacy COVID-19 Memo
Posted on: March 23rd, 2020
March 23, 2020- The staff of Phoebe Pharmacy understands our special responsibility to maintain normal work schedules. We are following CDC guidance to protect our employee’s health at work and we will continue to operate as normal even if a “shelter in place” directive is issued.
During these times of increased demand, our wholesaler Cardinal Health has implemented a fair share allocation process to ensure all primary customers have access to supply of the available products on hand. So far, with much difficulty, our buyers have been able to maintain appropriate levels in our pharmacies to meet current demands. Cardinal has also imposed an early order cutoff of 6 PM for next day delivery to assure that they can get the orders packed and delivered on time.
There will be some areas that we will need your cooperation on based on the allocation methodologies that have been implemented. Examples of these follow:
-If a new order presents for an item that is not currently stocked in the pharmacy, there may be a delay in our ability to fill that order. A communication from the pharmacist will occur explaining the date and time of availability.
-If there is a shift in par levels of a particular item, there may be a delay in our ability to fill that order.
-There will be some decreases in the quantities of certain medications dispensed at a time.
So far, we have not come across any medications that we cannot source. We will keep you informed of any changes as they occur. Thank you for the excellent communications we are experiencing regarding the delivery of medications to your community. Do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions.
We will update this news story should the situation evolve.
